Crafted amidst the breathtaking landscapes of Mount Lebanon, Levant Heights stands as a testament to the ingenuity of Riachi Winery & Distillery. With an unmistakably rebellious soul, this Lebanese craft whisky dares to redefine the boundaries of tradition, venturing into uncharted territories of whisky craftsmanship.
Inspired by the revered Irish single pot still style, Levant Heights embodies a fusion of tradition and innovation. Following in the footsteps of our Irish counterparts, we employ the time-honored method of triple distillation in our copper pot stills. However, what sets our whisky apart is its unique composition; a mash bill comprised of 60% malted barley and 40% Lebanese durum wheat. This distinctive blend undergoes the meticulous triple distillation process before being aged to perfection in white oak barrels, resulting in an exceptionally smooth yet aromatically rich whisky.
Upon encountering Levant Heights, the nose is greeted by a symphony of aromas reminiscent of sun-drenched fields of chamomile, interwoven with the nuttiness of pine, the invigorating freshness of mint, and delicate hints of ripe yellow fruits and vanilla.
On the palate, the journey continues with flavors that evoke memories of festive celebrations; a decadent Christmas fruit cake infused with the warmth of spices, the indulgent sweetness of crème bruleè, and the comforting familiarity of buttery biscuits.
